Premise: The tenure system allows old professors to hire smarter, young people without fear of losing thier own jobs since the younger professor cannot fire the older professor under the system.
Conclusion: The tenure system protects the professional employment in academia.
Bascally the premise says that without the tenure system, the old professor would not hire smarter younger people since the old might loose their jobs to the young.
B kind of repeats the above, but I am not so sure whether B is a legitimate assumption. GWD questions are not the authentic GMAT questions. |
