但好像有点讲不通，special properties应该是指steel,而不是other minerals？还有give it their own中，it和their是不是有点矛盾？

首先句子的大意是，钢是通过在铁中加入一些材料形成的，由于这些材料本身拥有一些特性，使得钢也具备了这样的特性，比如..........等等，

这样就可以理解为什么their指代的是other materials

give sb. sth. 这种形式是双宾语，比如give me a coke,  give it (their own properties)

我感觉这道题要看懂意思才做的出来，开始给我的直觉是D错了，原因我也觉得是FORM不对。但是其实都是名词，没有不对啊。后来才看意思知道最后哪个单词是助力器，助力器和前面的HARDNESS，ELASTICITY等特性在一起并列讲不通所以才错。   但是我有问题了，要是我不认识最后哪个单词怎么办，还是要分析条条啊。
