I am glad that you have found my notes useful.  I hope that you can make the best decision for yourself.  Ultimately, if you can honestly feel that the benefits you get from one school outweighs the costs, then you don't really have to justify it to anyone.  

I agree with everyone else here, to look into the recruiting stats of your target industry from each school.( you didn't mention  your target industry in your original post). If your target industry perceives a school is better/well represented, then you should go there.

See you at the welcome weekend at Carnegie.  There is still a lot that I can learn myself!

U-M全国影响的公立学校，虽然大不如前。螺丝校友会比较多，General Management is a strength, but truth is, quiet a few faculty are ph.d from CMU. If your concern is to work here in US, it would not be easy to make the shift, because I check the list of companies that hired international students from Ross last year, only a handful industrial companies. As for these Consulting/IB firms, it is too competitive even for US students. Maybe the Macc program fits your background, but only good for accounting career. Anyway, the culture here, collaborative/humbleness/balanced, may match your taste. Haha.

"companies that hired international students from Ross last year, only a handful industrial companies" does not necessarily mean Ross help less in landing a corporate job, but might attribute to the fact that international students at Ross tend more to find jobs in IB/consulting.

I'm not 100% sure what my target industry is , but I'm thinking CPG.
which is probably not what most people would be interested in after MBA.
CPG represents 5% at Tepper, 10% at Ross

Yes. See you @ Pittsburgh. I'm actually very excited about Tepper's welcome weekend (doesn't matter what my final decision is) it will definitely be fun to party : ) and Tepper mentioned we'll have event at Heinz Field. I think it will be very cool~~ and I love Pittsburgh !

OCD is very helpful to provide assistance in interview preparation etc, but many companies do not sponsor work authorization for F1 students, so the choices for those interested in management and strategy become limited. For IB/Consl jobs, you have to compete with dozens of MBAs with previous experience for only a few positions. The point is, you should consider off-campus job search as a primary way of landing a US job, even though you have the benefit of access to on campus recruiters. That' s the critical issue.

No problem. In fact, I am a student, but feel constrained by visa issue. Boeing comes to recruit summer intern, GM comes, but again, they only hire domestic this year. But there do are some good FMCG companies, like PG, Pepsi, General Mills, which I am not particularly interested in. Many students choose careers in marketing, and there are many more opportunies out there than  general management. Gotta sleep. Bye!
