By way of background, it is important that you understand employment success will vary for each student based on previous years of relevant work experience, industry sector and, functional area, fluctuations in the economy, academic strength, leadership, interpersonal skills (polish, maturity), and whether one is a "career changer” or not. This continues to be a tight economy particularly in the finance function where there is very limited hiring and a great deal of talent looking for those few jobs. It’s the supply and demand principle--currently there is a much greater demand for jobs in the finance function and a much smaller supply of such jobs. I tell you this in order to help set your expectations. In response to your question about salary data for the MS Finance Class of 2010 -- for graduates with 1 year or less work experience the median salary was $56,250; we graduated 54 students and 18 responded to our employment survey; 92% of those who were seeking had jobs by 3 months after graduation. I hope this information is helpful to you. All the very best, Wendy |
