楼主真是热心人！想了解一下，cmu的mfe第三，四轮是不是非常难申？我在美国排名60左右的学校刚拿到应用数学的phd, 这种背景申cmu希望大吗？我4月25号提交了第四轮申请。多谢！

*The April 25, 2011 deadline is reserved for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents, as well as part-time and certificate candidates. International applicants for the Full-time MSCF program must apply by March 7, 2011.  After April 25th, we will continue to accept applications through the summer on a rolling basis for applicants who are U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents or those who are applying to the part-time and certificate programs.

I am an international student,  I sent an email to CMU and got a reply by  confirming that I could still apply the program on the 4th round.

我在美国大学读本科金融～下学期大四准备申请了。但是我现在的科目里面数学和计算机的科目很少。。所以打算大四上学期修完linear algebra, differential equation, statistics 2 and C++/matlab....但是申请不是NOV1就第一轮截止了吗？那个时候这些科目的成绩还没有出来的说。。。不知道会不会影响申请呢？还是说我这样安排课程的话只有申请round two 啦？

建议你第二轮申请,这种事情还是不要太急为好,需要各方面都尽可能做到最好

Did you attend the math refresher course last year, Shaple?  I know there's a c++ course added this time around but based on the description, it sounds pretty basic... do you know if the majority of students attend (or from your year) them or not?

Yes I did.  I remember there were 15-20 students in the math prep course (in Pittsburgh campus), whereas the total number of students in Pittsburgh is around 40.

The C++ course is new this year and I have no idea how many students are going to attend that class.  I recommend you attending the class unless you are very proficient at C++ programming.  After all, attending the prep course is a good opportunity to get to know your classmates and get familiarized with the city before mini 1.

我觉得并没有特别看重,主要还是看你个人的能力。金融相关实习经历和海外交流经历会有较大帮助。纯大陆背景学生（指本科在大陆念，而且从没有出国交流的学生）毕竟还是少数。加油！！

我觉得并没有特别看重,主要还是看你个人的能力。金融相关实习经历和海外交流经历会有较大帮助。纯大陆背景学生（指本科在大陆念，而且从没有出国交流的学生）毕竟还是少数。加油！！

LZ 说的金融相关背景实习有特殊要求比如投行吗？因为我只有证券和商业银行的实习。。。还有，我也是纯大陆背景学生，用赶在R1申请码？

话说我英语有硬伤，雅思只有7，口语6，这样对申请是不是影响很大啊？你觉得我是赶一轮好一点还是参加第二轮？
