所以在申请的时候pre-MBA的背景才如此的重要，因为即使把你招进去了，你也很难找到称手的工作。我才真正领会到背景，硬件其实已经决定了自己能去什么档次的学校，essay只是一定范围上的小调整而已，恨之晚矣

虽然我自己没申请过MBA不敢评论你这个结论但是论坛上很火的有关HBS把2000字essay改成800字这一举动的评论帖里有很多跟你基本一模一样结论难道这是大势所趋么~~

楼上好像有人提到Pre-MBA背景。我觉得吧，如果本身背景和School不是很match，通过包装进去了，未必是一件好事情。花这样的cost会不会给自己背上压力，而最后反倒高不成低不就，这也是我比较担心的。
不过仁者见仁，或许我就不擅长长线投资。
最后，希望Yale校友能来分享。

wharton's strategy management is great; finance on the other hand is terrible, waste of a money if that's what you are here for. marketing and operation are pretty good as well. In the end, it all comes down to what you really want to take away in the 2 years.

Also, who said our investment management is not strong? That's total nonsense! We are the top 3 if not no.1 recruiting stop for all Investment Management firms. Just because "some people" don't get an interview opportunity doesn't mean most others don't. It all depends on your pre-MBA work experience. If you work for someone like Seth Klarman before MBA, even if you go to a 3rd tier school, you still get interviews all you want.
