刚才这道题做错了 查了一些讨论帖 貌似没有和我犯一样错误的 我选的D 正确答案是B 我认为这句话 But some policy analysts assert that, although comparable worth would virtually equalize male and female wages, many single-parent families headed by women would remain in poverty because many men earn wages that are below the poverty line.说明D对 would virtually equalize male and female wages不就是说消除inequality ，“because many men earn wages that are below the poverty line.”就是说men和women income都太低了吗 求解

搂住定位的没错，可是理解错了。你上面quote的那句话是在说 “other economists argue that a comparable worth standard, which would mandate that women and men in any jobs that require comparable training and responsibility be paid the same, should be applied instead”这个policy，而题目是问：文章最后的这个policy“ a family’s income should depend primarily on wages and urge the government to provide generous wage supplements。”
简单解释就是，原文说
1。老的同工同酬的政策呢，只衡量男女做同一种工作条件下的平等报酬，这个政策很多时候很难衡量是因为很多时候男女不做同种工作。因为某些职业男女比较集中。
2。而后呢，基于1的基础上，有些经济分析师改进了这个政策，就是说根据男女的相当的培训和职责来保证男女同酬。
3。文章最后说，以上1和2都不是解决单亲（母亲）家庭的贫困的根本办法，因为这些人贫困的根本原因不是男女不同酬，而是男女都很穷，所以根本解决办法是政府提供慷慨的津贴。

题目问，政府对于低收入父母提供津贴的这项举措是：B是最好的。
混淆选项是C，C的问题在于under revision，因为举措3不是基于1和2的改进版本，而是基于根本原因分析的全新的举措。D选项说的完全是相反的。

我还是不明白， 文中说政府的假设是错误的“a family’s income should depend primarily on wages ”，所以要改进， 要“provide generous wage supplements (child and housing allowances) to single-parents whose wages are low.”； 我的理解是政府目前还没有认识到这个错误， 所以造成了单亲家庭（无论男女都穷）的局面。

可是题答案是“The passage suggests that the United States government’s policy towards providing wage supplements to parents whose wages are low is based on assumptions about the appropriate sources of family income”

我觉得答案不是政府的观点啊， 而是作者的观点啊， 首先就排除了， 只有我一个人是这么想的吗

我觉得看题目吧，题目的假设就是政府采取了这个措施，文章虽然是urge政府去做，但是题目说：government’s policy towards providing wage supplements to parents whose wages are low

有没有人还是不能理解的啊。。。对于要对收入低的parents补助本来就是学者意见，政府是认为家庭收入应该靠wages。所以C选项应该是政府还没有做到但是被学者提出来建议要做到的 所以是under version  如果硬说under version文中没有提到是错的 那么关于B选项中家庭收入来源合不合理又哪里提到了呢。。。

根本不是由economists提出的，而是policy analysts提出的。

原文：“As a solution, they challenge the governent’s assumption that a family’s income should depend primarily on wages ...”
需要分清income和wage。policy analysts的观点是wage inequality很难消除，所以要想让这些人脱贫，就需要让family的income不仅仅依靠wages，还要有部分来自政府资助。所以analysts chanllenge the government's policy assumption that INCOME = WAGE.

C. under revision in response to criticism from some policy analysts
analysts支持，而不是批评这种policy。


D. capable of eliminating wage inequality but not of raising incomes for both women and men
相反，应该是无法消除wage inequality但是可以提高家庭incomes。
