thanks mindfree: "the conclusion above" I mentioned is :"some people who are good at abstract reasoning are famous". I was trying to negate E as the assumption to test whether the conclusion still hold. I was wrong before as I thought even negate E (~E), the conclusion "some people who are good at abstract reasoning are famous" still true, now I understand when we have "most of the skilled artists are NOT famous", the ~E, the conclusion "some people who are good at abstract reasoning are famous" can not be held any more, we at most can say "some people who are good at abstract reasoning CAN BE famous". Is this approach correct, thank you for coaching... jnlvo, appreciate your comment. 个人认为E中Most和some的效果是一样的,如果取反all skilled artists are not famous. 这样肯定推不出结论it follows that some people who are good at abstract reasoning are famous. I think if it is a "some", as in "some of the skilled artists are famous", then when negated, it turns out to be "None of the skilled artists are famous", instead of "some skilled artists are not famous". But with "most" as in "Most of the artists are famous", when negated, it turns out to be "Most artists are Not famous". What do you think? |
