"Have appeared" in E makes more sense as my colleague told me, and the way that the sentense split into two with comma in the middle emphasizes the fact that 99 percent have vanished. In B, "appeared" is ok but not as good as "have appeared". The critical problem of B is that it ignore the "the" between "of" and "five". So, E should be the right answer.

先是这种头不重脚不轻的结构让人看了很喜欢

其次，creature是不停的在appear，也不停vanish，两个都用完成时表示从过去到现在很对

这里没有明显的时间状语，把appear用过去时所圈定的时间范围没有根据

做这个题我头一个想到的是...the world has ever seen...，大家都用完成不是挺好的

另外：
1。99 percent是肯定可以在NY times上看到的句子：
Of the 100 million households in the United States, 99 percent
have at least one television, according to WebTV Networks.

2。appear在这里用现在完成时态也比一般过去要在理的多。至于说appear不能用在完成时态里的请自行google可以找出一大把这种用法

我觉得E的问题在于，of起始的句子应该用部分倒装，
Of the five hundred million different species of living creatures that have appeared on Earth, have nearly 99 percent vanished.似乎更好一些。
另外，我觉得have appreared有些奇怪，按照og的解释，完成时应该代表过去的动作延续到现在，而很显然既然99％的动物都死掉了，那么appear的动作怎么能延续到现在呢，此外，似乎只有可以延续的动作才可以用完成时（我记得有例外，但是想不起来是什么情况下了），appear用完成时很牵强。

所以我选择B
