     A，D的them有指代不清的嫌疑

    C不说了

     B我认为是that appeared on Earth不好，因为那么多生物，不可能是一个时间点出现的，应该用完成时态，表示一个时间段

A：是不对的，因为后面句子的THEM是不对，指代不清，而且现在分词VANISHING在做主句动作的伴随状语，不对！

B：appeared的动作是发生在vanish之前的，所以用过去式我个人感觉是不对的

C：错误很时显

D：句子的THEM，逻辑意义可以指species ，也可以指living creatures，所以指代不清！

E：我个人感觉不对，99 percent做主语，99 percent是不可以vanish的，同时与从句的主语不对称的！

想来想去，我决定选D，因为我想THEM不管指代什么，主语讲得通，而且这个错是有效性的错误，在没有更好的答案时，这也可以做为答案！

所为我选D！请NN指点！

bunnier agrees most of what brother jetrong said, except b, because bunnier chooses (b) as the answer. the meaning of the word "appear" is to show up at a time. it shouldn't use the perfect tense here. species showed up at some point, and then they have disappeared:

B. Nearly 99 percent of five hundred million different species of living creatures that appeared on Earth have vanished.
- 99% of species that appeared on Earth have vanished. (still gone...)
- 1% of specifies that appeared on Earth are still here.

对！appear不可以用完成时态的，我查了一下字典，没有have appeared的用法，只有

apear to have done!

经兔儿兄弟的提醒，我应选B，时态对，主语又没有岐义！比D好！
