[求助]这样的GMAT成绩能不能申请Top10

这年头考700多的中国人实在太多.特别那些身在北美曾考过GRE的人,好象考650比考750还难. 720不会拖后腿,但对申请TOP20的学校起不到任何积极作用,能避免首轮淘汰就不错(v35 is below 80%, which is required by some schools).

恕我直言,如果没有其实特长,我们可以省掉Harvard, Stanford & Columbia (GPA must be 80+) 的申请费. 但其它学校尚可一试. 如果你对金融感兴趣,也不妨研究一些非MBA的专业,比如 Finance Engineering in Princeton, Real Estate in MIT. 总之,720对申请TOP20的MBA来说确实是个鸡肋.但我们又能如何?不如放手搏一把,然后听天由命吧.

why everybody emphasize so much on GMAT?

i scored 680 and my tofel is only 610, i was interviewed by all top 5 school, got admission from wharton and mit.

if i were you, i'll spend the time sweating about my essay and other pieces rather than gmat.  it's really just one piece of your whole package, i know top schools ding lot of "800" every year, so as long as you're over 650, you had demostrate your academic ability.  stop nagging about it.

看来这年头申请真是越来越难了啊。因为考高分的人太多了。但是背景问题也实在非人力能及。GPA已经过去了，一去不复返了。我们无法做什么了。工作经历也没办法，顶级的咨询公司进不去（学历，专业？）投资银行只要MBA。这就变成只有好公司才能进好MBA，只有好MBA出来才能进好公司。用计算机专业的话说就是“死锁”（deadlock）。我们又能怎么样呢？看来只好在ESSAY中下死功夫，因为这是唯一可以使上劲的了。

而且chipmunk说big4的申请人太多，没有强工作经验就不行。但是怎么才算强工作经验？当了经理再去？那还读什么劲啊？多部门的工作经验行不行呢？比如我在audit department工作了2年，又去信息风险管理部工作1-2年行不行？

what I can say is that, if you cannot get in top 10, the reason won't be your GMAT hehehe

my background is nothing fancy, nor typical. i turned off offers from big consulting firms upon graduated from JiaoTong U. and joined an internet start-up 4 years ago, and i worked here all the way from a marketing assitant to the branding officer. i have bunch of intership, extra-curriculum activities experience and volunteer works. i reckon that the reason my application standed out is all about my essays. i believe everyone had a decent working experience should have some real interesting story to share, it's all about leadership, teamwork, dream, goal, passion for life. as long as you can demostrate your leadership potential and passion for life, you will be fine.

afterall, we all just people.
