plants native-->native plants

这道题是有点绕，因为我们会误认为这里的native to 是个整体，但是却不是。

结构是这样的：early european settleres used medicines to treat clods....

而这里面they made from native plants实际上是个省略了which的定语从句，应该是they made which from native plants,而which指代medicines作了宾语因而可以省略。

我想你是对的，这句话的结构是：insulation and camouflage are among the functions of hair for animals.

protect-->protecting是说绝缘防沙和灰尘所以用protecting的形式。这句话的意思是，动物皮毛的作用，一是绝缘，而是伪装。
