问2道prep 数学题目

1. 存一笔钱d,annual rate k, after 2yr get $600. in terms of d, same interst rate k after 3 yr get 2400. how much money invested?

2. a tree is 4feet high when planted, each year grow same amount height. at end of 6th year tree is 1/5 higher than it was end of 4th year. ask what's the growth rate?

第一题没看懂。。首先interest rate是simple rate还是compound rate 其次拿到的600 还是2400是利息还是本利和？
2 设每年长x feet     第四年底4+4x 第六年底4+6x       4+6x=6/5*(4+4x)    x=2/3      growth rate=(2/3)/4=1/6

1. k+1=2400/600      so      d=37.5
2.a*(1+x)^2=6/5a    so      x=1.2开根号减1

那就是d(1+k)^2=600, d(1+k)^3=2400 跟二楼答案一样
补充一点，二楼第二题不对吧，题目说的是每年增加同样的amount 不是同样的rate

我的意思是二楼做第二题a*(1+x)^2=6/5a    so      x=1.2开根号减1  没有注意到每年是增加同样的量而不是增长同样的率。
