In one state, all cities and most towns have antismoking ordinances. A petition entitled "Petition for Statewide Smoking Restriction" is being circulated to voters by campaign workers who ask only, "Do you want to sign a petition for statewide smoking restriction?" The petition advocates a state law banning smoking in most retail establishments and in government offices that are open to the public.

Which of the following circumstances would make the petition as circulated misleading to voters who understand the proposal as extending the local ordinances statewide?

In one state , all cities and most towns have antismoking ordinance . A petition entitled “ petition for statewide smoking restriction “ is being circulated to voters by campain workers who ask only .’ Do you want to sign a petition for statewide smoking restriction ?” the petition advocates a state law banning smoking in most retail establishments and in government offices that are open to the public .

Which of the following circumstances would make the petitionj as circulated misleading to voters who understand the proposal as extending the local ordinances statewide ?

The state law would not affect existing local ordinances baning smoking in places where the fire authorities have determined that smoking would constitute a fire hazard

Health costs associated with smoking cause health insurance premiums to rise for everyone and so affect nonsmokers

In rural areas of the state, there are relatively few retail establishment and government offices that are open to the public

The state law would supersede the local antismoking ordinances, which contain stronger bans than the state law does

There is considerable sentiment among voters in most areas of the state for restriction of smoking

A medieval manuscript called L contains all eighteen extant tragedies by the Greek playwright Euripides . of  these, ten called the “select plays “, are  accompanied in L  by  ancient commentaries and also appear in other medieval manuscripts, this group includes some of euripides’best-known works, including the Medea. The other eight, which appear in alphabetical order , without commentary , the Electra is one of the alphabeticals.

Which of the following can be reliably concluded on the basis of the statements given

Only euripides’ best-known works are accompanied by ancient commentaries in extant medieval manuscripts

The select plays are accompanied by ancient commentaries because they were the best known of euripides’ works

No commentaries were written about Euripides’ electra in ancient times

Euripides’ medea never appears in medieval manuscripts unaccompanied by ancient commentary

Eruipides’Electra does not appear accompanied by a commentary in any extant medieval manuscript,

第一题说voters who understand the proposal as extending the local ordinances statewide

The state law would not affect existing local ordinances

第二题较好理解,说是有18个剧本吧,其中十个呢are  accompanied in L  by  ancient commentaries and also appear in other medieval manuscripts

The other eight, which appear in alphabetical order , without commentary ,

Eruipides’Electra does not appear accompanied by a commentary in any extant medieval manuscript

既然voters understand the proposal as extending the local ordinances statewide即新举措只是原来举措的延伸, 那么对他们而言misleading 的应该是新举措推翻了现存的举措,所以D,The state law would supersede the local antismoking ordinances, which contain stronger bans than the state law does。

T2

Any tragedy such as Electra accompanied by a commentary is not included in the medieval manuscript mentioned in the first sentence, therefore if Electra without commentary can be found in other extant medieval manuscript, the assertion that the manuscript mentioned at the beginning of argument contains all extant tragedies may not be right.

The other eight, which appear in alphabetical order , without commentary , the Electra is one of the alphabeticals.

表明 the Electra is without commentary

Eruipides’Electra does not appear accompanied by a commentary in any extant medieval manuscript更应该是在原文得那个范围之内了,我感觉没有什么问题啊

Which of the following circumstances would make the petitionj as circulated misleading to voters who understand the proposal as extending the local ordinances statewide ,即voters 相信proposal是local ordiances的延伸(不是更改),问那种情况会对他们产生误导作用。

Any clarification will be highly appreciated.

2. 如果Electra appear accompanied by a commentary in some extant medieval manuscripts,那么Electra就也可属于前10中,这样与原文矛盾。
