I was in your shoes three years ago. The difference was that I was working in US and my husband was in China. We decided to reunite in China cuz this is where we feel most comfortable staying. Our families are here and so are most of our good friends so we have plenty of people to share our happiness/worries/whatever. “Living" somewhere means you need to enjoy it with people you love/like, not just "making a living" (which is relatively easier in US than in China if you are talking about the same living standards).
Also, I echo REgirl07 with her opinion on raising kids in US. I can't imagine taking home a child who can barely communicate with his/her grandparents.
