If (y+3)(y-1) – (y-2)(y-1) = r(y-1), what is the value of y?

(1)r² = 25

(2)r = 5



A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.

B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.

C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.


题目中的等式简化以后：  5(y-1)=r(y-1)

所以我首先就认为（2）是错的了。
在（1）中 r^2是25  那么r就为+ -  5
5肯定求不出了。所以r就是-5  所以算出y    >>>> 我就选了A..

答案是E  

我想问的是DS中。是不是这种题目虽然你能判断r的某一个根是可以求的出y的，但是另外一个根不行，所以（1）这个题设就不对了。是不？不明白- -

e啊，因为如果r=5，y可以等于任何值，而r=-5时，y只能等于1，可是条件一二都不对

阿  我理解的不是全对。看到你说的R=5时 Y为任何值..我才恍然大悟... 难怪不选A..选E...
