这是XDF蓝皮书上的一题：

In the past, every ten-percent-point increase in cigarette price in the country of Coponia has decreased per capita sales of cigarettes by four percent. Coponia is about to raise taxed on cigarettes by 9 cents per pack. The average price if cigarettes in Coponia is and has been for more than a year 90 cents per pack. So tge tax hike stands an excellent chance of reducing per capita sales of cigarettes by four percent.

A. Tobacco companies are unlikely to reduce their profit per pack of cigarettes to avoid an increase in the cost per pack to consumers in Coponia.

这题为什么选A呢？真不像正常的答案的样子。 我选了B 耶T T  ·跪求NN的解释～～～谢谢·～

题目说的是涨价才会导致销量降低，可是税率提高不直接等于涨价，如果如A选项所说，税率虽然高了，但公司愿意减少利润，这样也就不一定会涨价，销量当然也不会降了。所以题目要成立就得把这点否定掉。

B也不能算无关呢，B说以前的涨价通常都是由提高税收引起的，其实唯一就差在不精确上（通常）
