这一篇我从后文的题目中看出author是disagree with the "new scholarship"的，但是在文中哪里有词语表明author是在反对这种观点？
另一方面，new scholarship分别对earlier interpretation和long-held view进行了challenge和dispute，而author都是不赞同NS的，那么是否可以认为author是倾向于earlier interpretation和long-held view？
最后一段，作者用however转折指出20年代实际也有很多女权领域的intense activism，这应该是表示作者认为20年代的女权运动并非失败，但旧有的观点是认为其是失败了的。

作者对新旧两种观点的态度到底是如何？

其实就是说那个理论不够充分地说明women suffrage的问题。。。
然后用了一个巨长的例子来说明
最后那个However其实是在example里面的 用来解释example提出的问题，主要把握大体的作者态度（负评价）就行。。
如果到后面有转折也是末尾收敛，不影响作者的主要态度的
