[Help] USC vs Georgetown vs another year

懇請各位給點意見...多方考慮後還是下不了決定...今年已經30了...實在不應該這麼沒主見的...唉....

admitted by USC IBEAR and Georgetown regular program in Mar. however, i'm still considering spend another year to apply dream schools, ex Kellogg, Yale, Cornell or even better by improving my G/T score and essays

profile: G: 680; T: 100+;
lieutenant (plantoon leader) during 18 months military service
1yr private banking & investment fund company,
4 yrs supply chain finance (team leader) in global top IT company

career goal: corporate strategy or consulting. but also consider IB depend on future econ environment. prefer stay in US for couple of years, otherwise back to Asia, like SG or HK or SH

为了Kellogg我觉得可以再等一年，但是为了Cornell就没有必要了吧？Cornell有比USC和GU好那么多么以至于需要明年reapply？

再等一年你的背景履历会发生很大变化吗？如果这一年内你工作上有了很大的成就可以再申，如果换汤不换药的话我觉得意义不大

I am also admitted by USC IBEAR but rejected by Kellogg 1Y with the interview and Cornell AMBA without interview. Moreover; still wait for LBS Mif.

For your question (assume you would like to apply 1 year MBA); I think you can try Kellogg 1Y if you had business education background in college. You can try Cornell AMBA if you had technical or enginnering education background in college.

Back to your profile, I think your G and T is good enough because my girl friend got Kellogg 1Y admission with 680G and 100+T.

So what you can do is to make your career have a big change or upgrade that can have a good story for you to write essays. Moreover; you can pay more efforts to know Kellogg and Cornell by joining fairs, browsing websites, campus visits, and associating alumni ( this is the most important key factor proved by my GF because she had been in touch with her interviewer in the fair)

thanks for the inputs.

but what i concern is more than ranking but future career opportunity and relative cost. ex: 2011 USC graduate with 2yrs experience VS 2013 top 15 graduate apply the same position in corporate strategy in 2013. which one has better chance to get the offer. more, i'm 30 this year. will my age be another concern on pursuing post MBA career ?

and how to decide between USC VS GTU?

to reply above LZs: i served in TW. And i intend to focus on improving my test score and essays if i reapply. cuz i think that's the major reason i wasn't admitted by top 15 this year.
