觉得是irrelevant的。因为题目中并没有提到corporations that are not automating的呀！！

这里的weaken就是说没有进行自动化的公司也要交税，那么在这点上，企业之间就没有差别了，而对与自动化的企业则节省劳力成本，更有竞争力，这样还是说还是可以达到原来的目的，所以weaken。

C说没有自动化的公司也要支付失业保险，这样对于那些自动化的公司来说就合算了，因为如果要他们独自承担的费用很可能大于自动化节省的费用。

个人意见：

在原文中，作者已经表述了自动化可以省钱的观点。那么除了原文的这个观点外，在D中又加入了“自动化还可以进一步降低员工成本”，就是一种added support，而这个support是支持“自动化好”这个观点的。

公司之所以自动化就是为了省钱，所以解释说这是暗含之意思（TACITLY）。

原文作者的观点是自动化并不能最终的为企业省钱，而选项d)说了自动化的一个可能省钱的地方，因此具有削弱作用。

so corporations that are auto will pay less -- but the arthor asserts that company will pay more (including insurance and taxes) -- so C weaken

赞同.这题我开始也做错了,现在终于弄明白了.其中的逻辑关系如下:

(D). pay less → lower labor cost → lower total cost →Support Corporation's view

i.e.automation can save money for companies → weaken the author’s

argument (automation actually may not save money for companies)
