我觉得这道题的考点就是比较。
1、原句比较的是hot sauces和exercise在stimulate the release of endorphins in the brain时的效果，为避免比较歧义，要补出实义动词does。B：like exercise 有比较歧义，排除；C：原句合理重心不可变，just as exercise does本是插入成分，不能将exercise和hot sause并列做句子主语，排除；D：同C；E：just as 后实义动词未补出，with用的很突兀，有比较歧义，排除。
2、and句中的比较对象是effect，所以like后要用morphine's （effect省略），排除B、C

故，选A。

these指代前句中the release of endorphins，在并列句中充当主语成分，这应该不算是单独充当主语吧。另外这种说法应该算是参考书中总结的规律，不是词典中的语法规则吧。在做题的时候，要先用一些大规则排除选项，SC选的是相对最好，并不是绝对正确。

感觉by的语法有些确实经不起推敲，小时候学的----what's  this？---答曰this is sth··难道 这也错？并且有上题为证，说明”this，that，these不能单独用在介词后，不能单独充当主语“这句话有待商榷

感觉你学的不错，做题很快了吧？我现在做题真慢啊，一道题2.5min。分析更是无底洞，一道题有的搞上半个小时

而且不敢上阅读，因为读的太慢，杨鹏难句倒是不那么难了，但是要求的读意群与不回视两个方法实在找不到感觉······
