有些学校要求比较严格，要求你用有限的字数说明问题。
建议稳妥的办法是——简洁地说明问题，宁可字数不足，也不要超。

I was told that you should not exceed the limit. The better the school, the stricter they are about word limit. They say that if you can't control your word limit, it demonstrates that you cannot communicate effectively.

So I'd recommend staying within. You are only 10% over, it's very easy to tighten some loose sentence.
