1. 002 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Nowadays, a hot and important controversy centering on the problem concerns whether parents are
the best teachers. Some argue that children should learn most from school rather than their parents.
Others, however, advocate that parents are the first and best teachers for their children. Personally,
I side with the latter because parents have been our teacher since we were little kids and they know
us better.
One truth, I am presenting here, is that parents are our lifelong teachers. On no account
can we ignore the importane of parents. Not only did they give our birth,but also they accompany us
while teaching and guiding us to grow up successfully. Accordingly, so much have parents given to
 their kids that no one else can teach us heartly and selflessly like them. Parents taught
 us how to stand, walk and run when we are young; they are the first people who tell us to be brave, honest,
 and helpful; and they give us advice no matter when and where we are. For example, I once lied to
 my parents that I had done what they told me to do, but I did not finish the mission.After knowing
 the fact, they told me that I should shoulder the responsibility. I still remember what they taught
 me and become a reliable person.
Another reason is that nobody knows us as well as our parents. Only the person who understands us best
 can give us suitable advice. For instance, Edison was taught by his mother instead of going to school
 because his mother knew that he was clever while his teacher thought he was useless in study. What's
more, many well-known scientists and artists are taught by their parents. Parents know who we are,
what is our interested in and how can we be better. Therefore, hardly can we find a teacher better than
our parents.
In conclusion, despite we learn from school, televison and Internet, parents is instrumental in informing
us of knowledge and improving our behaviors. Thus, parents are our lifelong and best teachers.
