HI, scorpionleaf : look at this ( From BW)
Each waitlisted candidate is assigned an advisor who will walk through your application with you identifying your strengths and weaknesses according to the adcom. Once a candidate finds out that he or she is waitlisted, that person needs to call the admissions office to contact the advisor. ffice ffice" />
The only requirements to remain on the waitlist is a letter saying as much. However, any serious candidate will write essays, get additional recs, try to get fan letters written, etc. to address the adcom concerns.
Since Chicago is now clearly my number 1 school (I was dinged by another school that will remain nameless), I wrote two supplemental essays, sent one additional LOR, had a client send 1 fan letter, and wrote a follow-up letter with a few updates regarding my job and a non-profit in which I am involved.
