The "why" and "how" is more important than the "what". Based simply on what you've written here, nobody can tell you whether you have a chance.

When it comes to having a "different background", I've found that most people are a lot less different than they think. I know lots of people who have very similar working experiences to you.

Few people in this world are really "different". And if you are really "different", there may be no need for you to apply for b-s.

I think that you may ask if HBS, Stanford or Wharton are suitable for you. You are unique and the customer of these schools and you should know what kind of products or services you intend to buy. Do not be scared by these schools. They are nothing.

for my why

1. I want to get systematic and well rounded education from a top program. To gain knowledge to bring my company to the next level.

Plus I am the only daughter of my family and still single. Want to find a young talented MBA to get married and bring him back for family businessg. Do you guys think this is practical? I went to school in US a fews ago and do not like local guys I met when I came back to China. So I decide to head back to US to find some talent.
