Phd Ads A professor from the department of information systems (IS) of the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is recruiting Ph.D. students in MIS (management information systems). The IS department at CityU is one of the best MIS research institutions worldwide. According to a ranking in 2008, the IS department at CityU is among the TOP 10 institutions worldwide in terms of both research productivity and impact.
The PhD studies will be started in Jan. 2010 or Sept. 2010. Candidates can also come earlier before the starting date to work as a research assistant. For the whole period of studies, the students will receive a scholarship of about HK$13,440 per month and will be living in the Student residence which costs much less than the market price. Strong candidates will be admitted to the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, which provide a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 and travel allowance of $10,000 per year for awardees for the first three years of the PhD studies.
The admission requirements are as follows: (1) A strong research interest in one of the areas: electronic commerce, decision support systems, management information systems, or online consumer behavior (2) A high level of English Proficiency; TOFEL score above 92 is a minimum requirement (3) GPA >=85 (4) A background in one of the areas, but not limited to: business and management (including management information systems), computer science (including human-computer interaction), English, psychology, etc.
