Choice B is the correct one.

If the cotton that doesn't produce the insecticide are suffering unusually extensive damage this year, it means that the plantings of cotton bioengineered to produce its own insecticide against bollworms still works, comparing to these planting are ONLY being seriously damaged by bollworms.

Therefore, the argument, "
So it is likely that the cotton is simply being overwhelmed by corn-bred bollworms," is established.

原题大意:

因为——(1)今年之前,有药的棉花没有遭到损失

        (2)可能不是虫子产生了抗药性;

        (3)可能是虫子太多了

所以——今年,有药的棉花遭到损失

从以上结构我们可以看出,前提(1)和所以,形成了强烈的对比关系。那么我们要评价这个所以,就要找出与前提(2)和(3)有关的答案。也就是找出是什么原因造成了这种对比的出现,是前提(2)的原因,还是前提(3)的原因。

答案B的意思是,是否没药的棉花也遭受了损失。如果答案为是,意味着前提(3)成立。如果答案为否,意味着前提(2)成立。所以是正确答案。

选项A的意思,棉花有没有药性。跟评价无关。

选项C,其他有药的棉花田是不是遭受了损失。如果答案为是,原因也可能是(2)或(3);如果答案为否,也并不能确定原题中的棉花田遭受损失的原因。

选项D,棉花是不是经常被害虫损害,而不是B虫。错误很明显。

选项E,是不是有一种杀虫剂能够杀死有抗药性的B虫。跟本题无关。
