    Nowadays, there is a heating discussion concerning how to define a good roommate, which is triggering the common concern of the general public. People will easily pose myriads of good qualities which are of great importance, ranging from positive, friendliness, to easy-going and worthy-trust. Of various characteristics can have influence on a roommate, as far as I am concerned, humor, intelligence and responsibility stand out most.

    First and foremost, as is quite acquainted with us all, a humor is the god’s best gift to mankind. And it is safe to say that , in today’s world, especially western countries, a man without humor is just like a spring without flowers and a dish without seasoning, because humor can enhance physical as well as mental well-being. Since it is fairly easy to recognize the fact that humor will definitely help a lot in bearing the burden, easing the tension, reducing the stress and making us full of vim and vigor. Although there is no clear evidence to show that people nowadays are more stressful than we are before, we have to admit that we today more or less bear various pressures from different directions, from endless study to boring work, even the family trivial matters; consequently, some way is solely needed and should be taken timely to solve such thrilling problems. And it is humor that offers an effective access with a clear path toward them, make it possible for us to free from the tension, even, to some extent, let us summon enough courage and energy to face tomorrow.

    In the case of intelligence, it is also beneficial to us to a phenomenal extent. A roommate with extreme intelligence will enable us to steadily walk through difficulties in case of emergency and his intelligent insight is also able to give rise to make almost everything perfect that left nothing to be desired. Moreover, we can readily reap the benefits from the way he handle the tough situation, the way he cope with the difficulty and the way he address the dilemma. Furthermore, his appealing intelligence is more or less likely to become a powerful motivation to develop my potentials, strengthen my abilities, and promote my advantages.

    From the points I sate above, it is pretty clear that why the qualities namely humors and intelligence play a significant role in making a good roommate. And I firmly believe that such quality is to a roommate what a cornerstone is to a mansion.
