(B) 的 it 指代的是 energy
但是用 it 指代的話, 句意會變成 1990 年的 energy 就是現在的 energy
也就是說, it 是完全指代句子前面的 energy

所以應該可以改成 as that was
或用 GMAT 常常會是正確答案的 as was 「the case」
來表示 1990 年的 energy

而另一種可能是句子真的要指代不同年份的同一事物
這樣就可以用 it 來指代
如 PP2 的 198 題
Between 1990 and 2000
the global economy grew more than it did during the 10,000 years from the beginning of
agriculture to 1950.
