Sunday 17 May 2009 ESCP-EAP changes its name and becomes ESCP EuropeThe creation of ESCP, in 1819, has made it enter the history of businesses schools as the first school of its kind in Europe and in the world. The establishment of the five EAP, European Affairs Paris, campuses in the hearts of European capitals, in 1973, was also a pioneer decision. In 2008, year of the French presidency of the European Union, it became essential for us to reaffirm our powerful European anchoring, our taste for sharing excellence and knowledge beyond borders and our commitment to gathering the highest potentials throughout the world. Our new name, ESCP Europe, well reflects our ambition: by sharing an expertise in management education, developed on five European campuses and through a network of sixty partner universities throughout the world, we want to seize as well as possible the chances offered by globalization. ESCP Europe must show a double competence to prepare its students for action: it must constantly adapt to the trends in the European employment market, and simultaneously be a reference, a compass with stable and recognizable values by all. The new logo clearly is a symbol of this aim: the star with five branches, representing our five campuses, reflects the European basis and project, and the heritage of our School. The School’s new visual identity and logo will be integrated into the design of the new ESCP Europe website in May, when the review of the website will be completed.
