希望各位不吝赐教。。。

本科HKU economics and finance, gpa3.9+/4, ranking 1%, 去uc davis交流过1年，gpa 4/4, toefl 1年前100,准备重考，gmat未考未准备。。。想8月考

没有什么出众的实习经历，去年暑假在statistics的一个老师下做过很水的research...没有任何成果。。。

coursework: multivariable calculus, linear algebra, differential equation, probability and statistics, c language, statistical inference, and other econ & finance courses.

请问如果申请US finance phd，学校的ranking选择应该如何？。。。谢谢

i think u don't need to retake toefl, ur score is good enough. make ur gmat as high as possible, at least above 700.

and get some strong recommendation letters from your professors who graduated from U.S , check whether they have relationship with big guys. it will help u a lot. aim at 20-50, u can try better schools.

My last suggestion is , apply as many schools as you can afford, as long as u have enough money and time. at least 15 schools.

absolutely a strong candidate！

aim high...I think you should apply to the schools you may want to join (I regret a lot to have applied some schools I think I would never join)

have 1-2 safe schools is OK I think.

get a high GT(eg 110, 750),  give it a shot at rank 10-30,  and apply for some top and safe guys based on your recommenders' advices.     make a story for your exchange experience and pull it out.

master会不会主要是以工作为方向的，我现在知道的读完有可能转phd的是princetion下面的一个master in finance的degree...which is also very hard to apply...那些master读完以后转phd是不是会有困难？谢谢！！
