My 5-year-old view: Citi's MA program is reputable. They provide solid training through rotation. It's a competitive program that's good for people who wanna stay at Citi for long. Most VP/Director level people at Citi were originally MAs. You also have job security. As they underpay you they won't easily fire you HSBC's MTs are also good people. But because of sheer scale, you don't command as much prestige. Taking into account today's financial climate, HSBC is a lower-risk choice. However, remember - the people whom HSBC believes to have real management petential are International Managers. They're the guys who'll become country managers and lead the banks' business lines. MTs are way behind in terms of career prospects. But your job will be 100% secured working in a conservative organization like HSBC as they underpay you even more over a 5-year horizon National banks - do you have a special background? -- by 会员 NSR (2009/4/21 14:39:00)
Agree, but you can enjoy HSBC's lifestyle. |
