Hi, Every Body: Thank every CDer for your generous contribution. This is my first time to write something in this website. I just want to provide some things from my last night exam. I did not meet any math JJ and rc. I would like to list some questions I met in my exam. It is possible that I could not provide the complete information. I hope that you guys just take all the information as reference. Math: - Of the sample, 2*10^23 atoms are radioactive and the rest are not. If 0.2 atoms of sample are radioactive, how many atoms are not radioactive?
Answer: 8*10^23 - X, Y are positive integers, X@Y=XY/(X+Y). If A, B, C are positive integers, what is the result for 1/A@(1/B@1/C):
Answer: 1/(A+B+C) 3&4: I met two questions about probability. I could not remember the exact number So need to know about A+B+C-AnB-AnC-BnC-2AnBnC. Draw the 韦恩图 to get the answer.
5: ask about the area of one shaded shape (quadrilateral) in coordinate. One convex is the O, one (0,2), one (2,3), the last one (4,0). My Answer: 8
AA: About Breakfast Crunch cereal, the company claim that the cereal contain 20% more Vitamin E than cereals in other brands. It also did a survey that 75% of the regular consumers prefer to its tast. But the sale is still low. The company stated that the consumers did not know the benefits of the Breakfast Crunch cereal. In order to increase the sale, the company plan to redesign the front of box to include the information about the vitamin E and the result of the survey. All in all, the meaning of the argument seems like that.
AI: Public figure should avoid expressing their opinion about the things that they have not personally experienced or been directly affect by.
RC: 1: I forgot
2: It is about the “cost bias”. The first paragraph introduces definition of cost bias. Then describe one study performed by one person called Staw. The study involved two groups of people, they are required to invest their money into RD department. After first round, they are told that the investment performance is good or poor. Then, the people have opportunity to choose which one they want to invest by splitting their money. The group that was told that their investment performance is good intends to invest more in their original one, and the other group would like to put more money in the investment that it did not invest for the first round.
In the second paragraph, another scholar came out to perform similar study but with two different investments. The result is not consistent with Staw’s. And then the paragraph introduced the difference.
I could not remember the third paragraph.
- It is about the effect of the methane on global warming. It was thought that the methane emission comes from the fuel fossil burn, fire and other. However, the recent study finds that the methane also comes from plants. The article listed two studys to demonstrate that the plants really emit the methane.
- It is about sleep. Originally accepted theory stated that the sleep helps memory, however, recent study states that sleep helps to forget rather than to remember. And then provide some evidence to show that sleep really helps to forget. The REM is involved in this reading.
I hope that the information I provide can help some people. |
