如楼主所说，在这个例子里，to allow 即可以做状语修饰Judge Bonham denied a motion表目的，也可以做宾语只修饰motion。为何这里没有修饰歧义问题？

因为前面是a motion，而如果to allow是做定语修饰motion的话说motion已经被限定了，则要用the motion.

那么，如果改成the motion,这儿就不能用不定式了，有可能有修饰歧义？
