Duke EA Policy Clarification

To all Duke EA admits,

Cong to you all again!  I noted there are some disputes on EA status, so I went to admission office today and help you folks get the official clarification as follows:

Applicants admitted in the Early Action round must submit the non-refundable $3,000 tuition deposit.  All applications submitted to other school MUST BE WITHDRAWN upon an offer of admission from The Duke MBA. 

The Duke MBA program can go after you to see whether you keep your promise.  The Admission Officer tole me that Early Action is a big deal, it is more like a contracl situation, please take the EA seriously.  So you folks applied early action round can only come to Duke, no other choice.

Thanks for sharing... However, I think it's not that easy for Duke to be so tough on this EA.

As far as I know, many people applied in EA have been waitlisted by Duke,  the result will only come out together with round 1 applicants. So if EA is a contract, that means Duke gives out early results to applicants, and applicants makes early promises. But now Duke have them waitlisted to round 1, then the contract should be modified too.

Also, given the financial situation this year, if Duke cannot guarantee two year's co-signer-free loan for some students in need, then it makes no sense to force these people to come to Duke, because they simply can't afford it, and it's not their fault...

如果我没理解错的话，这个的意思是所有被录取的学生必须缴纳$3000定金，并且从其他学校撤回申请。

你要了我，我就得必须去，一定去，义无反顾的去，反正都得去！

关于这段话，并非是你卖田卖地都得去读的卖身契啦。 ED录取的学生，只有两个选择。 如果你今年要读MBA， 那么你就非得读DUKE. 第二就是你哪一间都不读.

也就是说，一旦duke 给了offer，没有拒绝的权利？我还以为不交3000块就相当于大家一拍两散，还有后遗症啊

我现在还没有填那张接受offer的表呢

难道它一发给我，我就必须强制接受吗....

申请之前我真的没想到有这么严重

I think after you pay USD 3000 deposit, duke will send you the formal offer. That makes sense.

我觉得这个心态满正常的 比如我来说从05年开始准备的时候就决定非columbia 不去

现在实现这个梦想了 然后开始犯贱了 要是wharton也满好哦 排名还高呢
