computer software industry需要用temporary cheap labor代替expensive long employees,来降低budget,因为这种方法在auto Industry实施成功。 Last year When several auto companies the replaced some of its permanent expensive full-time employees with cheaper part-time employee, their profits increased. a software design company plan to copy the same strategy, by cutting full-time to less than half. Thus it will surely see profit increase and long-term stability. 所以Blastcom定了一个新策略∶directed scientists of our staff to switch to renewable energy technology. Because the renewable energy industry is booming and several prominent renewable energy companies (举了三个)have been successful in recent years. #5A year ago Apex Manufacturing bought its managers computers for their homes and paid for telephone connections so that they could access Apex computers and data files from home after normal business hours. Since last year, productivity at Apex has increased by 15 percent. Other companies can learn from the success at Apex: given home computers and access to company resources, employees will work additional hours at home and thereby increase company profits.” A year ago Apex Manufacturing bought its managers computers for their homes and paid for telephone connections so that they could access Apex computers and data files from home after normal business hours. We discovered that each employee had the skills and motivation to generate more revenue for the firm than his or her salary cost us. However, for the past two years, our profit margin has been falling, even though we have continued to add employees. Thus, our newer employees are not generating enough revenue to justify their salaries. We must not be hiring new employees with the same level of skills and motivation as those we used to attract. Clearly, then, failures in the human resources department account for our falling profits."
