非会计专业的国内四大在职人员申请会计PHD

是帮一个朋友问的：他本科不是会计专业的（计算机一类的），目前是在四大工作的第
三年。他想申请美国的会计PHD，不知道四大的工作经历能不能弥补其非会计专业的弱
点呢？

还有如果能够等升到manager再申请，是不是会有更大的优势呢？因为他本科学校也非常一般，申请牛校的可能性大吗？
