Consulting Club Case Book Launched
Management consulting continues to rank among the most popular professions for emerging MBAs worldwide. As one of the best-paid professions for recent graduates, consulting offers lucrative salary packages and the chance to work on the most interesting issues in business today. But consulting careers are no walk in the park. The interview process can be difficult and painful. Could you get a sense of how you might overcome the consulting route before setting off on it too enthusiastically? Do you understand what kind of talents the industry is pursuing? Have you reviewed your personal inventory of skills set, and how closely it fits with your personality and capability? In July 2008, "CEIBS Consulting Case Interview Resources Guide", a guide book written by CEIBS Management Consulting Club (CMCC), was published for the whole CEIBS community. The 9 person editing team and more than 40 club members, after more than two month hard-working, collaborative composed and edited to make this case book come true. "CEIBS Consulting Case Interview Resources Guide" is the first career guide book composed by MBA students in China’s business schools. It is intended to be a resource for members of the CMCC of 2008 as they look for summer internships in the consulting industry during the following summer recruiting season. The book will also be useful to current second-year students during the fall of 2008 as they look for fulltime post-CEIBS consulting jobs. It contains five major parts of contents: “Introduction” briefs the consultancy life and consulting interview processes; “How to Ace the Case Interview” details on toolkits to ace cases and presents five practice roadmaps; “Practice Cases” provides ten fruitful interview cases in the context of China business which are also real examples from MBA07 experiences; “Fit Interview” offers useful models to handle behavior interview with lists of potential fit questions; and “Editor’s Note” releases the contacts for the editing team and CMCC board. We believe this career guide will become the initiative and milestone in CEIBS history, and passionate precedent CEIBS MBA students to contribute more to the development of the career-oriented clubs and entire CEIBS family.
