A tough SC question from Prep

NN's, I got below SC question from Prep, and seems the answer offered by the author is wrong.

I think the answer should be E, but in the answer posted is A.  Please help!!!

in addidtion to前后不一定要对称，但是In addition to her work的her要在下一句的句首的主语中体现出来，A和E都是可以的
E错在and前后不对称 include her discovering the earliest direct evidence of
hominid activity and （painstaking) documentation of
所以选A是对的

What about this question, the answer says C,  but it is not has to be " Not only... But also"?   Again, this question is from Prep.

这个好像我记得是<prep语法笔记>里的一道题，我记得上边的解释是not only, but also有时可以简写为not only, but

而to transform 和 to create 的对称更为重要

你翻翻语法笔记吧，具体我记不清楚了，只记得原来做过这题，当时看了答案还咒骂来着

not （only）…… but （also）
如果not only放在句首，则倒装，but also的主语要放在but 和also 之间，but +(sth)+ also
