005 A company has announced that it wishes
to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and
disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose
the factory? Explain your position.

    

 

    

People often connect a large factory with
noises and pollutions. Contrary to this widely acceped views, I believe that
the factory will bring the great opportunities and rapid development to our
community. In my opinion, the risks of having a factory are outweighed by the
benefits. That is why I support the plan to build a large factory near our
community.

    

No one will deny that the development of
modern industry has improved the quality of our life. It is very difficult to
imagine a city without any industry in modern society. It must be a desolate
and barren place. Unfortunately, so is our community. A new factory will change
this backward situation. It will bring a great amount of job opportunities, thereby
make enormous contributions to the growth of the community’s economy.

    

Moreover, the factory can promote the
constructions of community business, such as retail outlets, supermarkets, drugstores,
and so on. People who work in factory will need more community facilities, for
instance, they may want to drink coffee in a cafe near the community, or play
billiards in a ball hall, ectetera. The improvement of commerce and facilities
will also facilitate people who live in commuity. Our child will no more play
in the dirt, they can go to the cinema, go shopping with friends, just like
people in a metropolis. All of such industry can bring more tax to our
community, thus make our life more and more better.

    

Certainly, industrial development may have
a bad effect, like pollutions and noises. That is a global difficult problem,
but we should not stop eating for fear of choking. Development has become the
main theme of the present era. That’s all we have to do: persisting in taking
the road of sustainable development. The industrial waste treatment and the
environment conservation must be strictly carried out.

    

When the advantages and disadvantages of
building a large factory are carefully compared, the most striking conclusion
is obvious. From what has beend discussed above, we could safely arrive at the
conclusion that the building project is of gread benefit to everyone which live
in our community.
