Hi CDers, I have been struggling in choosing between MBA and Start-ups (sounds ridiculous though), really wanna get your thoughts on my case. Background: - Top tier bachelor degree in Asia with good GPA and one-year overseas exchange experience in the states - Working in equity research of a globally recognized top tier investment bank in Hong Kong (previously one year in Shanghai and now it is my second year in the industry) Plan A: Go get MBA in top US schools after another 2 years then return to the industry focusing on asset management Plan B: Go start up my own business after 2 years experience then see what life brings me to It is a hard decision because: 1. Opportunity cost for MBA is huge (my best estimate would be c. Rmb 3-4 million assuming 1m for tuition for two years program) 2. Given I dun have any enterprise experience, I really doubt how MBA can help me in being sophisicated in business world 3. Start-up sounds risky, while I believe we should take the bet when young (Relatively MBA sounds like a conservative option in this case) Thanks in advance for any input here.
