Academic Background

l         I graduate from ** University, my major is Business Administration, and I was admitted by Polytechnic
                University.

l         I believe my application ability and research experience in Finance prepare me well for MS study in Polytechnic
                University.

 

Why not continue my study in China

l         The education of finance in China still focuses on qualitative analysis while in US. the courses emphasize more on quantitative analysis which is more practical in the booming financial industry of China.

 

Why Choose Polytechnic

l          Polytechnic
                University has great academic background and good international reputation. It is one of the farseeing universities which first set the mfe degree in US. The teachers there are professional and filled with experience.

Reason for Pursuing a MS degree

l         My career plan is to be an analyst in the investment bank in China first and after I get enough working experience, I will turn to be an investment consultant in a foreign bank which has branch in china. So solid foundation of financial knowledge will be essential and compared with the PHD which focues more on theory research, the MS degree is a better choice. Because it can give me enough time to make my career plan come true.

 

Path through MSEE Program

l         In the first year: Financial Accounting; Economic Foundations in Finance, Corporate Fianace; Quantitative Methods in Finance

l         In the second year: Financial Risk Management and Asset Pricing, doing research with advisor, prepare and finish the dissertation.

 

Career Plan

l         After graduation, I will come back to China and work as an analyst in an investment bank such as Merrill Lynch
        . Investment bank is a new organization in Chinese financial market and there is no doubt that it will play an important role in the development of Chinese financial market. I can face a lot of financial conditions and problems and accumulate valuable experience.

l         Then I want to be an investment consultant in normal foreign bank which has branches in China such as Citibank and HongKong & ShangHai banking corporation. My working experience in the investment bank can help the bank make right decision and my cross-cultural background can help the bank adapt to the Chinese market better.

l         My final career is to be an senior manager of a foreign bank in China.
