choose the difficult or challenging classes in college or university though you can not get a great grade

 I think choose some difficult or challenging classes in college or university is beneficial, because students not only can learn more but also know how to study better.

First of all, students who choose the difficult or challenging classes will receive a well rounded education. Since knowledge is interconnected, he or she may think more deeply. For example, if a biology student learn some organic chemistry, such as glucose, then he or she can understand how glucose influence brain’s energy and how glucose is oxidized eventually to form water and carbon dioxide in a chemical view. Also, their versatility allows them to apply for a wide range of jobs when they try to find work.

Further, taking a difficult or challenging course enables students to know how to study. Since different person has his or her advantages or disadvantages, he or she could hardly excel in every subject. However, taking some difficult or challenging course will stimulate a student's interest and teach them how to study. For example, I am a physics student but I sometimes go to chemistry class. Because I know I am not good at chemistry, I will study it more diligently. Even though I can not get a good grade, I can still learn how to analyze a problem, how to establish a model, how to face difficulties and failure. In other words, I acquire the skills of study, which will not only benefit my major but also dose good to my future development because everybody will face different problem or adversity someday.

Besides, if a person only learns what he or she does well in, perhaps he or she gets bored sometime. The worse is that he or she may lose incentives to study because he or she will satisfy with his or her current condition. In the contrary, to challenge some difficult course not only allow us to expose to more knowledge, but also give us impetus of lifelong study. What's more, though a student can not get a good grade within a short time, he or she still has the potential to get one in the future because he or she has already known how to learn by taking a difficult or challenging course.
