Need advice!

Hi everyone.

我将要就读加拿大的Ivey MBA. 看了这里得讨论以及nn介绍，感觉咨询业是个很具挑战性同时也很有意思的行业，想知道如果我一年后毕业转行做咨询的可能性大吗？

介绍一下我的个人背景：

加拿大本科金融专业，毕业后工作两年多，去年移的民，所以打算定居加拿大，主要就是加拿大或者中国两地跑，以后又机会也想去美国看看。

在加拿大本科毕业后，先是在一家移民服务机构工作，主要就是准备一些business plan, proposal, market research。。。；现在在银行，做得是卖保险，loan,mortgage等。 申请的是IVEY10月入学。工作经验不多，但是感觉从中还是学到不少，渐渐改变了自己内向的性格，学会与人交往，沟通能力也得到提高。

我的各方面条件都很普通，请大家给一些建议，如何更接近我的目标？不求一步登天，但是我得知道上去的梯子在哪里。 谢谢！

I doubt top consulting firms hire in IVEY, but you may want to confirm with IVEY students or alumni.

I heard they do. All top 3 offices in Toronto are not that big, compare to some offices just cross the border. But you can work in the States with ur TN visa after getting your citizenship.

personally I do NOT recommend IVEY if you only look at consulting

although those firms don't admit (explicitly), they do have so called "core" or "target" schools to recruit most of the MBAs

to be specific, globally M/B/B recruit 50%+ new MBA hires from HBS/Wharton/INSEAD

What other options I might be able to looking for if I attend Ivey? Entreprenuer? Investment banking?

that's not true, at lease from what I know from one firm, the hiring is pretty diversified among top 15 schools.

what you said is also true. it doesn't conflit with my points.

top-15 schools are exactly the target schools that i mentioned.
