Urgent! Question about NYC transportation

Can anybody tell me how long it will take to go from Elm Hurst or Woodside in Queens to 42 St. Time Square (by whatever transportation such as Subway or bus)? I am looking for somewhere to stay in NYC and Queens seems to be ok as long as the commute time is within 45 min. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'd say it's about an hour commute.   Definitely not within 45 min.
