你认为未来20年汽车会不会减少？

Automobile has changed the world a lot in the past century. However, such a significant invention carries many defects today, which seems will result in a more and more challenging situation to be antiquated. Despite of assorted controversies today, as far as I am concerned, cars still have a long way to go.

  There are many advantages of it that other traveling tools can not rival. Before automobiles were born, vehicles were usually propelled by animals, comparing to which cars are much faster. It is the popularizing of automobile, along with the invention of radio, promotes the unification of American culture. With cars, people do not need months of walking to the capital for an exam in order to be a government officer, which is common in ancient China. Also, cars are lighter and cheaper than train or plane, which makes it possible that the civilian can afford them. Thus, people do not need to comply with the schedule of the public traffic, and they can set out whenever and wherever they want.

  Being a chief obstacle of automobile's development, the threat of air pollution is attracting more and more attentions from the public. However, where the problems come up is where the potential benefits lie. A multitude of manpower and material resources have been put in by well-known automobile manufacturers in order to occupy a first place in the competition of green cars, as a result, generations of environment-friendly automobiles are burgeoning, such as electricity powered cars, solar energy powered cars, and so forth. From my perspective, the environmental problem will stimulate the progress for cars in the coming 20 years instead of demolishing them.

  Deficiencies in safety may be another impediment in terms of car's development. Against to this flaw, researchers have designed airbag many years ago, and other intelligent devices are being worked out, intelligent detector, for example.

  With the developing of the civilization, it is intelligible that a higher criterion would be put forward, yet there must be supporters and speculators to improve it. This is how the society progresses. After all, there is no proper substitution of such a fast, convenient and cheap vehicle so far, nor can I find it in 20 years.
