你好,又碰见你提问了.上次也是我回答了你的语法题. 你的语感好象不太好. E读起来很难受. 题目后半句意思是法国人对摩洛哥感兴趣是因为法国人(they)认为（assumed)如果他们不拿下摩洛哥, 他们就不会拿下ALGERIA.  that 后应该是一个完整的从句.  without it(Morocco)比 they did not hold it更简洁. E 有歧义,if they did not hold it 放在后面,it 可以指代之前任何出现过的单数名词,it 不可能指代ALGERIA,所以有歧义.
