Check if Chinese Student/Scholar Association in Emory can help you. First, find an appartment with more Chinese especially those with kids. 2nd, find a kindergarten near Emory (especially have more Chinese kids so that your child won't feel alone and can have several good friends); Third, find a baby sitter. Many parents of Chinse students may help you take care of kid ($30/day ?) if you can send and pick up kid by yourself. The best situation is to find a Chinese couple living with their old "folks" and kids. Every morning, you can drop off your kid at kindergarten; pick him up at 4:30 pm, and if needed, you can drop kid off at babysitter's home. If you are super-busy, you can ask them to pick up your son because they also pick up their own kid every day.
My advice is 1) ask for help from Chinese Student/Scholar Association in Emory; 2) Arrive early. If you arrive late, you may have defficult to find a good apartment or a nearby kindergarten; You also need a few weeks to apply "Social security number", purchase a car, get a driver's license, pruchase furniture, etc., and get familiar to neighbourhood. 3) Socialize with your neighbors - bringing a few 2008 Olympic/decorative inexpersive but "cute" artifacts, wake up early so that you can have opportunity to talk with old Chinese in morning exercise.
