Contact current students, alumni or admissions office If the above info do not answer your questions, then try to contact as many people as you can and ask around. I contacted some current students, alumni in the process and was impressed with the support that I got.
No, I did not know any current students or alum at top MBAs before I applied. At first, I felt that I was at a disadvantage of not knowing anyone at top schools, but through this process, what I learn is that you need to be proactive and reach out to people who can help you. Talk to fellow applicants as much as you can. It helps you to know your competition and by exchanging information with others, you will expand your network. Always take initiative when contacting students and alumni, attend MBA tours/fairs. Do everything in your power to connect with people, but be sure not to harass people. Be polite and be postive. I am sure a lot of MBA students and alumni understand well of the process you have been through and will help you if time permits.
