so can we assume that if i couldn't find a job in fund management companies before i got my master degree, then i still couldn't get it afterwords? but actually i got it! because master degree is necessary for an analyst.
The so-called alumni network is not effective in helping you get job offer, not at all. it will be helpful in helping you open the market or expand the corporate relationship, maybe.
think about this, if CEIBS network can get you a job, there should be anyone who has a CEIBS unemployed even after 3 months of graduation, but the truth is 20 something people still unemployed.
for your BF's case, i would suggest to establish a track record in overseas company, better with big name or fortune 500, then consider go back to China, otherwise, it would not be a good venture.
keep in mind that the Chinese labor market is very competitive, one position can be chased by 1000 qualified people, I cannot really see your bf's Competitive strength, some people here like to talk about marketing or consulting prospect, but the chance is tiny, even with a Ceibs or CK MBA. if your BF has a track record of sussessful career oveaseas, then it would be different.
Do you imply that attending MBA in china means a no-win satuation, a stupid behavior,or a loser game ?
I partly agree with you . I prefer it because it is a unique choice to "kill 2 birds with 1 stone ".
However ,I am very appreciate your braveness . (so many people here dislike you ,but you never care about them )
Acutally, local MBA school definitely offers value for lot of people who don't want to go aboard. one thing i don't like and disrespect is lot of loca MBAs lie a lot on that value and bluffing in the job prospect. simply put, that is "打肿脸充胖子".
Being able to tell the truth about one's weakness, faults, is the basic ethnical requirement for MBA, but I cannot really see this on this so-called best B_school in China.
Also, the pure english training for MBA study seems not good enough for you guys, I cannot imagine how can you guy write a equity research report or pitch book in english, not to mention lot of MBA don't even know how to value a M&A synergy deal, term sheet while claim knowing everything about Investment banking . I think that is why most of IB don't want to hire people at CEIBS.
But how do you balance family and study , budget and target ?
By the way , all non native speaker need improve english forever ,right ?
